Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 2nd of April 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Snail desktop application ("Snail", "Application", "Service") operated by Hanna Rynkov, a sole proprietor operating in Israel ("Operator", "we", "us", "our").

By downloading, installing, or using Snail, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of the Service

Snail is a desktop application available for macOS, Windows, and Linux that enhances the native operating system clipboard functionality. The Application captures and manages copied content, including but not limited to text, images, code snippets, URLs, and file or folder references.

Snail stores clipboard history locally on the user's device and enables users to access, manage, and reuse previously copied content.

Marketing terms such as "infinite" or "limitless" clipboard refer to user experience concepts and do not imply unlimited storage capacity.

2. User Accounts and Authentication

Snail may require account registration and authentication through a web-based backend and deeplink mechanisms.

The Operator stores only the minimum required account information provided during registration, as well as certain default user settings.

Snail does not currently provide cross-platform data synchronization between devices.

3. Data Storage and Processing

3.1 Local Storage

All clipboard data collected by Snail is stored locally on the user's device.

Snail does not transmit, upload, or store user clipboard data on Operator-operated servers.

3.2 Encryption

All locally stored data is encrypted using industry-standard methods. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

3.3 Storage Limits

Snail operates with a configurable storage limit. By default, the maximum storage capacity is set to 1024 MB and can be adjusted by the user.

When the storage limit is reached, older data will be automatically deleted to free space.

4. File and Content Handling

Snail handles different content types as follows:

If a referenced file or folder is moved, deleted, or becomes unavailable, Snail will not be able to restore or paste that content.

These limitations apply to file and folder references only. Textual content stored within Snail remains available subject to storage limits and retention settings.

5. AI and Third-Party Services

Snail may integrate with third-party AI service providers to process user requests.

Any data shared with such providers—whether directly or indirectly via Snail—is transmitted at the user's discretion and responsibility.

The Operator does not control and is not responsible for how third-party providers handle such data.

Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party services they use.

6. Security and Sensitive Data

Snail operates using a clipboard monitoring mechanism provided by the operating system.

6.1 Exclusion Responsibility

Snail uses an exclusion-based security model. Users are solely responsible for configuring exclusion lists for applications from which clipboard data should not be captured (e.g., password managers and other sensitive applications).

6.2 Heuristic Detection

Snail includes heuristic mechanisms to detect sensitive information such as passwords or tokens. When such data is detected, Snail attempts to prevent storage unless explicitly marked as safe by the user.

However, such detection is not guaranteed to be accurate or comprehensive.

6.3 Disclaimer

The Operator is not responsible for any leakage, exposure, or misuse of sensitive data resulting from clipboard monitoring or user configuration.

Users are solely responsible for managing sensitive information.

7. Telemetry

Snail may collect anonymized telemetry data to improve the performance and functionality of the Application.

This data does not include personal clipboard content.

8. Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting support at:

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Israel.
